Private Investigator Turns To Fiction
Interview with Author G.A. Endless
At seventeen author G.A. Endless was introduced to Karate, at that time writing was not in his scope of career choices, back then “Gregg Endless” had other plans. “I got into karate because I had a grudge on a guy who picked on me and broke my nose.” Gregg told MSM “I found I had a knack for martial arts and began teaching after obtaining my first black belt at 21.”
Two years later, he was teaching Advanced Defensive tactics for five police agencies while attending College in Santa Monica. He graduated with a degree in Administration of Justice. He also studied Political Science and Psychology. Right out of College he was recruited into a large private investigation firm. He left there four years later to become the Director of Investigations for Legal Service Industries a conglomerate of various attorney services. As his reputation grew he started his first private investigations company in Beverly Hills, Ca. This small company was known for its high profile list of clients.
In 2006 he retired from the investigation industry but still maintains an active Private Investigator License in California and is a San-Dan or third degree Black Belt. Throughout his career he never forgot another love. That of writing.
“At seven years old I was in a gifted school and started writing detective short stories as part on an English Class project.” Endless said “I loved how the stories just came to life from my imagination to paper. The teacher was so impressed with my writing she asked me to continue the series all through the fourth grade. The kids in my class would applaud and the feelings I experienced were, life shaping. I'd been an avid reader of college level books by the time I was six. The experiences taught me how much I loved to create.”
Gregg has been writing for about three years now under the pseudonym of G.A. Endless. His book is entitled: Issla, whom is a Vampire living in the 21st century.
“I took up writing for pleasure.” Gregg, (or should we say G.A.?) informed MSM, “I was always doing something creative and when my children were teenagers I played Dungeons and Dragons with them for years writing one scenario after another. This led to starting a new fantasy world and a novel. It's almost completed, some 25 years later, and will be released in 2011.”
Endless smiles, “I've always written poetry and short stories throughout my adulthood as a means of relieving stress. My life was always filled with deadlines and my cases were as full of desperations. Writing made everything more tolerable for me.”
His first novel Issla, A Vampire In The 21st Century, is under the Eloquent Books Label. He currently is finishing up editing the sequel to Issla which will be two volumes, as well as a Sword and Sorcery Fantasy and a Crime Suspense novel. The expected release for volume one of the sequels to Issla is hopefully going to be released by September of 2010, followed by volume two, a month later.
Issla in some ways exposed an alter ego of me and although she's a heroine not a hero I guess maybe it was my feminine side rearing itself in my writing. She's very strong in character, quick witted and finds a way of turning her liabilities into assets. She's a sensuous creature and I wrote her and the vampire race as polyamorus (Having a loving (usually sexual) relationship with more than one person at a time with the knowledge of all concerned.). Not my personal lifestyle, but it was fun letting the fantasies run free. I had a lot of fun writing this book!”
Issla’s story begins when she finds her grandfather dying in the pyramid they shared for thousands of years. The man behind the murder? Her Uncle, who was after a scared amulet that opens a portal to enter the land of the dead and bring back anyone they chose. The uncle was unsuccessful, and the dying Grandfather gives Issla the amulet. A chase around the world begins for Issla, fighting for her own life and the Medallion of Annubis.
In conclusion, we asked G.A. if any of his past PI experiences are in his books. “No, I have to be careful not to put even a hint of my past into my novels. My life was always overshadowed in an air of confidentiality, and will continue to be. I have copies of so many Confidentiality Statements, that it actually fills two file cabinets. A lot of freelance Government work was also involved. I don't want to spend the rest of my life ducking law suits or worse, looking over my shoulder!”
